Senior Pet Care FAQ

Senior Citizen for Senior Dog Forever Foster Program

1. The senior citizen must be 60 years of age or older.

2. Qualifying dogs based on size and age:

  • Dogs 29lbs or less must be 11 years of age or older
  • Dogs 30-49lbs must be 10 years of age or older
  • Dogs 50lbs or more must be 8 years of age or older

3. The senior citizen must live within one hour/60 miles of PWTSS

4. Dogs MUST go to our veterinarian(s) located in Nicholson & Dalton

5. PWTSS offers transport to and from our veterinarians.

6. PWTSS does not permit the foster to take the dog to any other vet without prior approval. 

7. Any foster who takes a dog to a non-approved vet is financially responsible for any and all charges. 

8. PWTSS supplies medications if applicable

9. PWTSS pays groomers if applicable

10. PWTSS supplies monthly preventatives

11. PWTSS supplies food and any additional items upon request. 

Adopt Senior Pets

1. Adoption is available for people age 21 and older

2. PWTSS does not offer immediate adoption of any dog. PWTSS has a (30) day foster-to-adopt trial period.

3. After 30 days, you must adopt or return the dog to the sanctuary.

Adoption Fees

Dogs Under 30 lbs

  1. Age 11 and up - $200.00
  2. Age 8 to 10  -  $300.00
  3. Age 7 and under  -  $400.00

Dogs 30-49 lbs

  1. Age 10 and up - $200.00
  2. Age 7 to 9  -  $300.00
  3. Age 6 and under  -  $400.00

Dogs 50 lb & over

  1. Age 8 and up - $200.00
  2. Age 7 and under  -  $300.00

 

 

All Dogs Receive The Following Medical Care

1. Wellness Exam 

2. Vaccines

  • Rabies
  • Distemper
  • Bordetella

3. Dental, if applicable

4. Spay/neuter, if applicable

5. Senior bloodwork

6. 4DX test

7. Microchip

If you have any questions about our services, text us at the number listed or send a message through our website. Call either number for faster service.  We accept calls every day of the week, but visits to the sanctuary are only on Saturday & Sunday.
